Upon arrival, you will need to go through immigration controls and collect your baggage before proceeding to the exit area. There you will find exchange counters and ATMs. One of our drivers will be waiting for you at the exit of the airport with a sign bearing your name and will drive you to your hotel/riad. Once you are settled in your room, you can enjoy a typical Moroccan dinner. After dinner, you can rest and relax in your hotel/riad. Your first night in Morocco is likely to be a memorable experience, giving you insight into the rich culture and hospitality of Moroccans.
After enjoying a traditional breakfast, you will begin your tour by exploring the crenellated walls of Rabat’s medina, which are 5 km long. These walls were built during the reign of Sultan Yacoub El-Mansour in the 12th century and are made of red ochre, which gives them a unique appearance. Next, you will visit the Kasbah of Oudaya, which is also dated to the 12th century. This historic fortress is located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and offers a magnificent view of the sea. You can also admire the typical Moroccan architecture and design, as well as the green gardens and the narrow streets of the medina. After that, you will head to the Tower of Hassan, one of the most emblematic monuments of Rabat. This tower is famous for its differently decorated walls and for its fascinating history. It was built in the 12th century and was to be the minaret of the largest mosque in the world, but construction was halted after the death of its founder. Next, you will visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a monument that honors King Mohammed V and his two sons, King Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdallah. This mausoleum is known for its typical Moroccan architecture and furniture, as well as the guards who stand in front of the building. Finally, you will head to the new city to visit the Royal Palace, which was the official residence of King Mohamed VI. This palace is known for its magnificent architecture and design and offers breathtaking views of the city. After spending a busy day in Rabat, you will head to Casablanca for your dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After enjoying your breakfast, you will begin your quick tour of Morocco’s financial capital, Casablanca. You can admire the Place des Nations Unies, a historic place located in the center of the city, as well as the Boulevard Mohamed V, a palm-lined avenue that is considered one of the most famous streets in the city. You can also explore the residential neighbourhood of Anfa, which is known for its historic buildings and French colonial architecture. Then you can enjoy the view of the sea from the Casablanca corniche, which is a wonderful promenade that runs along the beach. Finally, you will visit the famous Hassan II Great Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. This mosque was built on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and is a symbol of modern Islamic architecture. You can admire the white marble walls, mosaic tiles and intricate geometric patterns that adorn the interior of the mosque. After having lunch in a local restaurant, you will head to Marrakech to continue your tour of the imperial cities of Morocco. You will spend the night there at the hotel and can enjoy a delicious dinner to recharge your batteries before a new day of discovery.
The city tour of Marrakech offers an insight into the architectural beauty and cultural richness of the city. You will explore the Koutoubia Mosque, considered a masterpiece of Hispano-Moorish architecture. The Medrassa ben Youssef, a remarkable testimony to the history and tradition of Islamic teaching. In the afternoon, we then visit Jemaa El Fna square, offering a unique opportunity to meet the inhabitants of the city, discover their daily life and participate in an authentic and immersive experience. Overnight with a gourmet dinner at the hotel. Moroccan cuisine is famous for its spices, unique flavours and variety of dishes, such as tagine, couscous and mechoui. You can taste these traditional dishes prepared with fresh and local ingredients.
After breakfast, we will leave Marrakech to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou via the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka, a mountain road with an altitude of 2260 meters. You will visit an argan oil cooperative before exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ait Ben Haddou, which is a famous kasbah in Morocco. You will then have lunch in Ouarzazate, nicknamed “Hollywood of Africa” for its many film shoots. You will cross the road of 1000 kasbahs and finally reach Dades Gorges, where you will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.
Great! On the sixth day, after breakfast, you can experience the natural beauty of the Dades Gorges and its unique rock formations by taking an easy walk along the river. Then we will leave for the city of Tinghir where you will visit the beautiful gardens of Todgha before having lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, we will continue our journey to Erfoud passing through the town of Tinjdad and the Todgha Gorges. In Erfoud, you will visit a fossil factory and learn about the fossil industry in the region. We will then head to the dunes of Merzouga where we will ride camels for a memorable desert ride, followed by an evening of traditional Berber music and dinner under the stars at our desert camp.
After a night spent in the desert of Merzouga, you will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes before having breakfast. Then you will ride a camel back to your vehicle and leave the desert. You will cross the Ziz Valley and pass through several picturesque Berber villages en route to the town of Ifrane. You can stop in Zaida to enjoy a delicious barbecue with a cup of mint tea and in Azrou to visit the cedar forest where you can see Barbary apes.
After the cedar forest, you will head to the city of Ifrane, known as Morocco’s “Little Switzerland” due to its European architecture and cool climate. You will have the opportunity to stroll through the picturesque streets of the city and discover its magnificent landscapes.
Finally, you will continue your journey to the city of Fez, one of the imperial cities of Morocco. You will spend the night there in a hotel to rest before discovering this fascinating city the next day.
The eighth day of your tour in Morocco will be devoted to visiting the city of Fez, one of the four imperial cities of the country. You will be able to discover the cultural and historical riches of this fascinating city in the company of an expert local guide. You will start with a visit to the medina, the historic heart of Fez, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can stroll the narrow, winding streets, admire the mud and brick buildings, and discover the bustling souks where you can shop for souvenirs. You will then visit the Madrasa Bou Inania, a Koranic school dating from the 14th century, as well as the mosque and the Nejjarine fountain, famous for their remarkable architecture and decoration. You can also visit the royal palace and the mellah, the Jewish quarter of Fez. The city tour will end with a walk through Jnan Sbil Gardens, a peaceful and beautiful public park. Here you can admire a wide variety of plants, trees and fountains, and relax after a busy day. In the evening, you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel to spend the night.
Today your driver will take you to Chefchaouen, a city with a characteristic design with whitewashed walls, blue doors and tiled roofs. Considered “the real jewel of Morocco”, Chefchaouen is known for its basketry and pottery work. Once arrived in Chefchaouen, we start your visit by walking through its narrow streets and admiring its blue and white buildings. We also stop at one of its many open terrace cafes to enjoy the view of the city while sipping a mint tea or a coffee. Then you can visit the great Tarik-Ben-Ziad Mosque with its distinctive minaret inspired by the Torre de Oro in Seville, as well as the Kasbah and the Andalusian gardens. You can also explore the town’s crenellated towers and learn about its history. During your visit, you will be welcomed by the inhabitants of Chefchaouen, who are ready to tell you everything you want to know about the oil mills and the artisan shops scattered around the city. Before heading back to Fes, you can shop in Chefchaouen’s bustling souks to sample the daily local culture and perhaps pick up some souvenirs for loved ones. At the end of the day, you will return to Fez, satisfied with your visit to Chefchaouen, a true jewel of Morocco.
